Spring is on its way

This morning I went for a long walk over my local common. The sun was out, blue skies and the birds was singing.

About five minutes into my walk I had a pair of robins come down and land very close to me, they just looked at me and sang for a moment before wondering off together.

I sat down on the wet grass for a while just listening to all the birds singing around me. It was peaceful and relaxing.

On my walk I saw my first butterfly. It was a comma butterfly and it just missed my face as it flew past. I also saw my first bumble bee. The daffodils and crocuses are blooming. Spring truly is on its way.

During this pandemic nature has been a release for me as I'm sure it has been for many of us during these hard times. Being out in the fresh air just listening to nature really does have a positive affect on you mentally. It helps us forget all our stress and worries and helps us to appreciate the nature and the little things around us.

Next time you are out on a walk I recommend taking time to stop and listen. You never know what you might hear.
